AI Scribe

Implement AI Scribe technology into your practice as a way to reduce administrative burden, improve documentation efficiency, and enhance patient care.

OntarioMD shares information about the Ontario AI Scribe Program established by the Ministry of Health and Ontario Health. Clinicians are encouraged to review the website to learn more about the AI Scribe procurement process, how to get started, and more.

Adopting AI Scribe is a significant decision. OntarioMD led an evaluation study of AI Scribe technology. This study considered how the technology reduces administrative burden and increases physician face time with patients.

HPE OHT Support for AI Scribe Implementation:

HPE OHT is funding/reimbursing new adopters and existing users of AI Scribe technology at this time. If you are interested in participating for 2025/2026, please complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the AI Scribe Funding Form
  2. Email Abby Leavitt supporting documentation such a receipts.

Please complete the form and submit your documents by March 13, 2026.

Reimbursement will be provide up to the approved funding limit. Full reimbursement cannot be guaranteed, and a cost-sharing model may be required if demand exceeds available funds.

Additional AI Scribe Resources for Clinicians:

ConnectingOntario Clinical Viewer

Through Ontario’s digital health advancements, family physicians and nurse practitioners can view a more complete picture of their patients’ health journeys—no matter where their care was received across the provincial system.

This real-time access to clinical information supports quicker, better-informed decision-making, streamlines workflows, and helps reduce unnecessary tests.

Learn more about how this tool can support your practice by exploring the ConnectingOntario ClinicalViewer.

To use this tool, the HIC must be onboarded (either the physician or the organization). This includes completing the intake form and obtaining a OneID. Please note the waiting time to complete the process can take up to six weeks.

Ocean eReferral Network

Referring patients to specialists has never been easier with Ocean eReferral Network. This simple and secure channel easily transfers patient information from one point-of-care client management to another.

Features include auto-populating patient demographics and (most) required medical information right from your EMR–saving you time. Want to know the status of the referral? This platform keeps you updated through your EMR and with email notifications to you and your patients. Communications & Promotional Material

Health Care Connect

The following material is for all HPE OHT Partners to promote Health Care Connect.

Health Care Connect (HCC) is a provincial program that connects unattached patients to a family doctor or nurse practitioner in their community when one  becomes available.

The HCC program now accepts attached patients who are seeking a primary care provider closer to home. Hastings Prince Edward residents who currently have a family physician or nurse practitioner outside of the region can register with HCC.

By posting the following posters in high traffic areas, such as waiting rooms and community bulletin boards, HPE OHT Partners will help achieve our goal of attaching our community members to primary care. We also make social media posts and written copy for partners. If you have any questions, please contact that Backbone Team HERE.

Printed Material

If you require printed copies of the poster, please email the Backbone Team HERE.

Health Care Connect notepads will be available soon. If you are interested in receiving this, please email the Backbone Team HERE.
